While searching through a box of artifacts in Dunedin as part of my MFA project, I came across 2 old hand whittled wooden pegs. I became fascinated with the variety and intricacies of such a mundane and small object. So I sorted through our peg basket and sketched all the different types we had, then collaged my drawings to make this painting. My two year old son told me at a later stage that I needed to paint in a bird…so I did! This piece is created from an old cupboard door I pulled apart and rearranged to form a framed composition.
