Boatsheds n.o 18 and 19 were inspired by various sites I visited in the upper North Island during 2019. They are fictional yet express elements of the existing nature of these sites. The painted Pohutukawa and rope swing were developed from a sketch drawn while traveling around the East Cape. This painting represents the end of a long summer day. The scene is quiet and tranquil, offering the promise of a new and eventful day.
