Te Karaka/Cape Campbell Lighthouse marks the Southern approaches to the Cook Strait. It is situated on the eastern coast of NZ, about 50 km from Blenheim. The black and white iron tower (1905) was the 2nd tower to be built there after the 1st wooden tower was found with substantial decay. The lighthouse sits on a headland above distinctive rising white cliffs, its stunning location chosen for the 2016 film, ‘The Light Between Oceans’.
