Lines of Sight

Lines of Sight was a project 2 years in the making investigating the history and construction of selected lighthouses around New Zealand. The resulting 16 mixed media paintings (included below) were exhibited at Pātaka Toi Gallery in 2023. Each art work began with in-depth archival research including historical research, sourcing original architectural plans and (where possible) site-visits to the various lighthouse locations. Recycled window frames informed each composition and selected historical information was used to create a distinctive narrative, unique to each piece.
