Taking inspiration from existing boatsheds dotted around NZ, I use my research sketches to then design and paint my own imaginary scenes. Each boatshed is initially created as a drafted elevation line drawing including architectural symbols and structural elements. Only selected areas are painted so the finished work ‘floats’ between a drawing and a painting.
